Now that the sprouts have practically doubled in size overnight it's easy to see the leaf shape is definitely peas.

They showed up better after I watered and I watered well since it's clear, warm and dry today. Potatoes are again growing leaps and bounds, this weather is doing wonders for growing things. If all the peas survive to maturity going to have a bumper crop hopefully. Need to start looking at trellising for them.
Very giddy with success in the garden showing now. Was about to say the potatoes will likely need support then realized... wrong! They'll have their own support soon, they make short short sturdy cages for tomatoes supposedly and might use a couple of those with some shade cloth or something wrapped on the inside for holding soil. If I can find someplace where I can cut a small section off instead of buying a 20x20 roll. Closest place I know of is a 40 minute drive, not going there unfortunately. Will have to check HD then the tiny garden place up the block and then check Armstrong. I know HD won't have any but worth a shot and need to buy fertilizer.
Time to get going, temperatures are rising today and the back fence neighbor is doing yard work with his radio blaring. Woke me up with hip hop/rap this morning and has progressed back to 60's and 70's music. Thankfully.
Oh and I was turning the compost pile and (sadly) there are worms! I think I cut one in half with the shovel.
Worms are present when there's sufficient moisture and organic matter. So I guess my compost pile got their attention so they are coming to the surface to find it. Yay! I saw some worm castings when I moved the logs away from the peas in the north bed but forgot to mention that too.
So yay! Worms and stuff! Good for the soil!
