Man that stuff is rank! I never had garlic go bad because I used it up fast enough. This was in the fridge for at least a month so guess I'll have to stick with fresh and plant what starts to sprout.
It's warm and clear and breezy again today, not as windy as yesterday but it's still a wonderful day. The crows were making more noise this morning than the hawks. Woke me up (along with my cat) with their noise sounding like they were right outside in the tree.
Garden didn't need much other than dropping the garlic in the ground around the planter bed. Surprisingly when I dug in with the shovel or trowel I hit the tunnel almost immediately.
All dug in. About seven cloves, three in the back two in the front, one to the side on the right and then another on the left outside the bed.
I was tempted to put a few in the potato bed but decided not to since there's so little room there. With my luck I'll end up having no potatoes because the gophers got them.
Still have to wait on those as much as I want to dig and see if there's any growing I won't risk killing the plant just to have a peek. That's where a tower/sack type growing has an advantage, being able to dig down with your hand to check on them.
You can see how sunny it is and how dry the soil is on the surface, I think everyone will be fine if I hold off a day and plan to get out there extra early tomorrow to water, or try this evening before it gets dark.
Roughed up the soil again around the marigolds because I hate flat dirt. Wish I had some mulch to put out there. I suppose I could dig up the marigolds and put them all at the front of the bed with the peppers behind them, but then I plan on pulling that tomato soon so that would be a more ideal time to do that.
Not much else to report today, another lazy day with wonderful weather, all the birds going crazy and taking advantage of the weather.
