Woke up around 7 this morning to overcast and my nose telling me there was a change in the weather. Still sneezing a bit and nose is not happy. Not as windy now around 11:30am and going to be hot today, may need the AC in a few hours.
The traps were set last night with green tomato pieces, didn't work as well as I hoped. Will be using some red tomato pieces tonight for sure.
What it looked like last night and what the trap looked like this morning. Not much other than maybe an earwig. Fruit was hardly chewed on all of the traps.
The one from the trellis trap had dozens of even smaller baby pill bugs and two slugs. So something is working right or just random placement. The fruit in that one was eaten but I suspect the slugs had more to do with that than the pill bugs.
That poor last zinnia I just pulled it up. It still got eaten and I decided to put another of the cucumbers where the zinnias were. I threw some zinnia seeds along the trellis and in front of the tomatoes in the north bed.
I keep itching to pull the radishes but they are far from ready and the heat is probably slowing them down as well.
Tomatoes are loving the heat, nothing needed water this morning so will likely water this evening as I usually do as part of the trapping situation. Nothing draws out the pests more than rotting fruit and damp soil.
Will be harvesting those onions pretty soon and maybe shifting the younger ones around a bit out of the shade.
That garlic though....
