Ho hum garden stuff, hot continues, watering

 10 am and I have closed up for the day since it is already 84 and predicted to go up ten degrees by noon. We will be out and about today to get various things since I got money so we can get gas for the car and a few groceries. Other than that, garden is holding steady, I did water this morning though. No photos from my neighborhood walk, it was hot and I only did half my usual amount, besides not going to take pictures of stuff I already did.

Better pictures of the zinnia sisters from last night. The red is a bit deeper than the photo, the pink a bit brighter as well. Stupid camera and lighting.But look at the secondary branches on those! Will have zinnias into October it looks like!

This is what happens when you leave a cucumber out in full sun, got totally bleached out. I put out more tomato halves and a few leaves for the bugs last night as well as leaving that cucumber out.

 

That is all bug poop on the tomato. They were chowing down on it and hopefully not on my plants as much.

No other cucumbers to pollinate this morning, a few failed as they never opened completely so never got a chance. That's okay, a few more that are getting there and I finally cut the giant curved one to use.

Watered everything this morning, shook the water off the leaves because water and hot sun on leaves does not do well. The sunflower is hanging in there, literally. I shifted where it was tied off to the right so it's leaning a bit more so it can droop it's head easier. That poor thing, the stalk should be so much stronger than that. Well actually, the whole thing should be three times that size but it's alive and surviving thanks to me. 

Still had to stop myself from picking up some seeds to plant. I just don't have the space inside at the moment and it's still way too hot to put them outside. I'll take a look at my furniture arrangement and see where I can put some seedling containers.

Much moving around and contemplating things. Oh yeah and getting some food.
