The fence bed is holding steady, nothing pestered the radishes but nothing else is coming up either. I watered everything of course. Then when I was putting the hose away and doing one last check, noticed the rose hip I had pulled out of the compost heap had been stepped on. Hmmmm. I split it open to see what condition the seeds were in. It definitely was not dry, the outer husk was soft and the inside was damp/moist. Must have gotten water on it and it was in the shade to boot.
Now technically the seeds needed to be dried but I thought, what the heck. Went over to the fence bed and pulled out what I could and dropped them in the little puddle that formed in the far left corner. Made sure some dirt covered and filled the area and left it at that. There were about six or so seeds, and as I said, they should have been fully dried before planting so not expecting much to happen. But what IF something did? I think I know what bush it came from and if so, it might be one of the rootstock roses that sprouted. I thought I had taken a picture of it when it was blooming but according to my records, nope. That also reminds me I should take my clippers to it and cut off the hips that are there since our weather is warming up it likely wants to start flowering.
I also just realized I can't dig that corner in if I get some compost for the future potatoes. Sigh. Plenty of room, and looking back at my pictures I did get the MG black bag of soil when I planted the zucchini. It did decent enough I suppose, still need to do soil tests but now have to wait until after everything comes up.
So, much like everything else, wait and see, not much else to do. I get money tomorrow so have a lot of shopping errands to run. Will have to get up earlier so I have time to get walks in the morning and water the garden before going out. Hoping I can swing into HD to pick up soil as well but if not, will try another day.
