Day 9- Okay you know what day it is.

It is hot with dry wind today, sinuses are saying it is a verified Santa Ana. I made sure to go and water the beds well before heading out on errands this morning. First drift of that dry breeze and grabbed the nozzle to hit the dirt.

Easter Egg mix radishes

Nothing else going on in the garden, I must have planted the other seeds too deep or something. No money left for getting soil this week. Might have to wait until tax money comes in next month. That's a bit late I know but what can I do? Compost pile isn't ready yet, won't be for at least 6 more months if that.

We went walking at Santee Lakes again and it must be migration season because there were sooo many ducks and other birds on the water! I didn't get any pictures but it was fun to see them all and smell the air, step carefully on the sidewalk so we didn't step in bird poop... yah....

Seriously though in the garden, wondering what the heck is keeping the other radishes and carrots from coming up. Any number of reasons and all of them fall on me as the person who planted them and prepped the beds. Like I said the corner where they are up is more composty and stays moist with a little sun. Has yet to dry out but then the south bed is in shade with a little sun and yet nothing over there. Glad I don't have to blame on no fertilizer though, maybe I will take a nutrient sample tomorrow or on the weekend and see how it's improved. Really bugging me and thinking I put them too deep most likely.

Sigh..hit and miss for sure. I know the frustration now of pepole planting seeds and wondering why they aren't growing. It's nature..what can you do?

Well, calamity struck.

I never got out to the garden yesterday because I figured it wasn't worth it. I should have watered because it's been dry of course...
