Thankfully no new damage to my plot but definite evidence of it following the wall. Yesterday I went out around 4pm to tie up the other tomato cage for the pea and got some more pictures. Also saw the managers about the gopher and they said yeah there's a gopher in the front lawn area. Great. So it's following the walls.
Had to get a picture of the rose again, without my hand being there it would be all washed out despite it being late in the afternoon. Near the compost pile this morning so indeed it is following the wall and hopefully will keep going and not backtrack.
That is the same area with the difference being the one on the left I moved into the shade to take the picture, the one on the right was out in the sun. BIIG difference.
Lettuces are holding up, suffering from being shaded to full sun unfortunately. The ones on the right were the ones already there. Everything was still damp enough I didn't water but may go out in the evening and check.
Still waiting on the tomatoes to ripen and then will carefully cut everything back and dig it out.
The pea cage seems to be working, I had to shift and twist a few of the branches to get them in the right position for the tendrils to grab on. Note how there's more leaves at the top where it's not getting sun? That's the way it goes. The carrots are still all there, I covered the shoulder of one that was exposed because it was greening up. Not too long before they're ready and then plan what to put there next. The front of the bed gets more sun but anything that takes sun gets to big.
This is over in the north bed, see all those sprouts? Weeds. that is the weed grass coming up and I vigorously dug them out. Grrumble... imagine what I would be doing with a proper raised bed? Wire mesh on the bottom to prevent covers, tall enough so I'm not bending over to dig... good soil so everything grows spectacularly and best of all... no weeds!
