It is warm and a bit windy but a lot warmer, even hot if you have to haul heavy stuff around and then go up and down stairs several times then go water. Yeesh! I'm worn out!
So I got money, did some very necessary shopping at Costco then after everything was done I was able to get out to the garden for some very much needed watering. I decided to repair the hose instead of returning it because I didn't want to go back out today.
Because the hole was in a fold of the hose I thought, well maybe it was just wear and tear. I straightened it out to find the slit and clean it off and...hmmmm. It looks like something sharp was dragged on it. Now there are corners and rocks and such but nothing that is sharp enough to cause a slit like this.
That is almost like a razor blade cut it. If that was the only damage I would call it a structural split but then there's the dragged line at the edge and further down. I will look in the garden for any sharp nails or things it might have dragged across but still... I'll go back down tonight with scissors and trim that end off. I forgot my keys with my knife on it when I went to water.
I didn't take very many pictures because I had to fix the hose, water and get back upstairs. I was frustrated and hot having to go back upstairs twice. The tape held when I was watering at least, even with short pressure from turning off the nozzle to shut the hose off. They certainly did not want this to be a maintained garden area because I sure could have used a table or chair or something to sit on while doing that.
Anyway... the marigolds are continuing to open and I picked a handful of peas. Some were almost not quite ready that I picked and there's still plenty on the vine for the next few days to pick later. Are they supposed to be hard to pick off the vine or is it just me? It took two hands to pull them off without ripping the rest of the vine.
The dirty one I dropped in the mud as I was picking the others. The peppers were definitely wilting from the heat so hit those first and watered the other two beds. I seem to recall pods being longer on other peas I've bought but it could be a variety thing. As long as they taste good I'm okay.
That's basically it for today. Sometimes it's a quick watering and pictures and that's it. Will figure out if I can afford to buy a few things for the garden.
