Annnd gopher again.

Weather is more humid and breezy but likely not any worse than yesterday for temps.

The gopher got the sunflower in the fence bed.

I think I'll get the shovel and ram it into the ground to block tunnel access to the north bed with the peppers. Will see about the south bed too with the cucumbers just about the right size for them to eat. And there is a caterpillar or snail on the bucket pepper.

Serious chowing down on that plant and with that damage it could be both. Interior eaten is snail, edges is caterpillar or snail that got to the edge. Sigh.

Oh and in snooping around to see if there were signs of gopher mounds behind the Jade plant, look what I found out.

This is what happens when people just leave plants and not check on them anymore. Oh that palm sprout is going to come out as well. But that entire huge plant was in that pot at one time but clearly overgrew it or fell over and there you have it.

Yet another bush that was hacked back and I wanted to stop and talk to the guy when I was on my way back upstairs, but it would have been pointless as he understands and speaks as much English as I do Spanish.

Drives me nuts seeing plants hacked back and not pruned correctly. Worse yet is plants in the wrong place so this sort of thing happens. The azalea and camellia will recover because you can do this and it won't kill them but still... it's a desecration to say the least.

We have things to do today and the next few days so may not post, stay cool, water and hydrate your plants and you.

Well, calamity struck.

I never got out to the garden yesterday because I figured it wasn't worth it. I should have watered because it's been dry of course...
