Everything still there, today.
Since we're going to be gone most of the day and because for some ungodly reason I woke up around 7am I was able to get out to the garden around 9 to water. On the way, noticed yet more butchered bushes, though the crocosmia (if I remember correctly) is done for the season though they really need to dig them up and divide them.
The poor monstera is failing of course because they took away the aloe that was shading it in the afternoon. It's easy to take cuttings from it but that's not my job nor do I have the means to do it properly.
Taking pictures, checking on things, the cucumbers are looking good and here's hoping they continue. I did a closer inspection on the pepper plants to check for flowers and the sneaky little plant has two peppers already!
I initially saw one but then when I turned away I thought my hand hit a second one, It could just be the glint off the leaves that I thought was another pepper. They blend in very well with the leaves and given the size of the plants, I don't expect them to get very big unfortunately. Lots of flowers though so here's hoping at least a few that are hand size. Need to put some more bark around them to keep the soil evenly moist and cool.
They weren't too wilted given how early it was, watered well and loosened the soil a bit around them and I was done. Easy garden day.
Oh and the results of my bean experiment? 4 out of 6 sprouting is better than 1 out of 10 by far. I closed them up again and have to look up the instructions to know when to put them out. Ideal situation they would be in nice, rich composty potting soil but nooooo, I have crappy sandy clay soil that has zero nutrients and zero compost percentage wise. So as soon as they get a little more sprouted I can try to shift them to soil, preferably in a container where I can monitor the soil moisture better.
Enough garden for today will see what happens with the rest of the weekend.
