Small puffy clouds under a wonderful light blue sky. No rain expected until next week, around Monday so I got out and took pictures and dumped my full scrap bucket that had a lot of potato skins.
Well the bag did the job, there's a lot of water that was captured but since I don't have a rain bucket... just had to dump it on the ground as nothing else needed watere.
The lizards returned to the log pile. Saw one skitter along the wall then when I was taking a picture it was actually there on the log watching me. It's all good little buddy, glad to have you in the garden.
The dark spot on the right in the left picture (confused yet?) is where I planted a garlic that I noticed was sprouting in the compost. Those things, I swear... prolific little plants but that's fine by me. I will hopefully have four bulbs eventually and they will be used.
A shot of the onions growing from rim height because the contrast was better at that angle. I also noticed some tiny shelf type fungus on the logs and had to get a picture, just because.
I then did an experiment with my camera phone taking pictures of the lettuce.
Picture on the left is my usual angle which is about normal coloring for the bed. The one on the right is no bending over just about waist height. Oh yes, this started with noticing a few leaves are really being chewed by snails/slugs.
Varying degrees of faded coloring that was just messing with the distance from the plants and using HDR. The top right of the first pictures, the darkest one is closest to actual color.
Again with issues for indoor lighting and switching to HDR setting. It really isn't that dark in the kitchen. The garlic is sprouting just fine but there's no roots which is kind of crucial for faster growth. Will see how fast the tomatoes sprout though. Didn't take a picture of the black peat pellets in black container. Might move those to another container. Ohhh! Just emptied some danish pastry clamshell packages from Costco...
Experiments in gardening and photography!
