I love the changing weather

It's more clear than cloudy today and the changing weather only indicates that it is indeed spring in my area. Skies are blue, clouds are white and grey, get the occasional storm blow through which only helps to clear the air and freshen up the plants.

Trees say winter, skies say spring. Beautiful backdrop though, and I noticed there's a nest of some sort up in the pepper tree over the fence. I could only see it from that angle, moved five feet and it was obscured by the rest of the tree. Fairly large nest, not sure if it's crow or not but I know it's not the hawks as they use the same nest every year.

I brought the other onion cuttings down to plant them and started to put them in the end of the west bed. Problem was they were rather crowded and I had one more to plant. Sure could have put them in there but decided to put them in the raised bed instead.

I know, I know, I wanted to put more soil in there for the summer plants and I was going to put the onions in the south bed. I then saw how Layla's were doing in total shade and decided to opt for the most sun instead. By the time the peas and everything else is done I will likely be able to pull those onions and use them.

As much as growing the radishes is fun and a good crop I'm getting one or two at a time and they wilt almost immediately. How do they keep them so fresh in the stores?  Should I keep them in water or a baggie with damp paper towels? Will have to look that up.

Still not sure what that seedling is. Not cilantro or radish or even carrot so next on the list is tree or other wild weed. Going to keep it until I see what the secondary leaves are and then yank it. The cilantro is still going gangbusters but look like it needs to be trimmed given a few older yellowing leaves. Dolores doesn't seem to be using it so looks like I might be trying to dry some and plant more in the south bed for summer.

Still waiting for the tomato and pepper seeds to pop. They aren't under constant light and warmth so it's taking longer than it should. Tempted to take them out to the garden and put them on the rack with the other potted plants. Would have to cut holes in the 'lid' for ventilation but other than that it's a great little greenhouse. I had loosened it yesterday for air and then the wind kicked up and I heard it clatter onto the pavement somewhere. It's a clear piece of plastic and the wind was not coming from just one direction. Looked and looked then the wind gusted and heard it skitter behind me. There it was about ten feet away. Whew! Since it's a container with the bottom, I can snap it together to keep it from lifting off. When I took it off this morning I put the orchid pot on it because the wind was still kind of breezy gusts.

The tomatoes should have been up in 10-12 days, I planted them on March 5, it's been 12 days.  Need to get them both some more heat and light.

Excuse me while I go take care of that.
