Went out to walk Rocky and to the East were huge thunder clouds, apartment manager said there was a 75% chance of rain. Sure enough, big winds hit a half hour later and another thirty minutes and the rain started. The air was warm though and perfectly comfortable walking around in short sleeves. I remember being in Arizona when a storm was coming in and that was my first thought, 'reminds me of Arizona storms'.
Seriously dark clouds.
I had to close my bedroom window as it faces East North East so wind was bringing rain in by the time I sat down to write this.
Believe it or not that picture of the garden, there is not enough sun to make shadows, that is the difference in color from the constantly shaded side and full sun. That is a 'shade line' but not shaded at the moment. Meanwhile to the west, beautiful skies without any sign of an incoming storm because that's the leading edge.
Meanwhile, the soil looks like it could certainly use the rain. Hoping there's enough to at least do that. I know the deeper soil is fine but stressing the plants with a surface dry is not good.
When I went back out yesterday to take the seed tray down to the garden I then decided to plant out the two onions and the pepper. I somehow had triggered the 'portrait' mode that blurred the edges so had to delete a few of those. The 'bigger' onions are at either end of the green onions I just planted and the pepper is tucked in the east corner of the west bed. I salvaged some of the soil to fill the four inch black pot the pepper was in for future use.
One thing I discovered unpotting the plants were a lot of roots and the bottoms of the cups were still very soggy. That is likely one of the reasons they weren't growing so well.
Can't see it but the big black fence lizard is behind the peas. I didn't want to spook it much but it moved from where the aloe is and skootered along the wall behind the logs and then as I moved again, went behind the peas. That one is very beefy and long, probably about eight inches or so tip to tail. Been getting lots of food for sure.
I was going to finish up with the video of the wind before the storm but it's being difficult so will share it on my FB post.
