Short post due to sudden rain storm

Weather app said it was windy but no chance of rain until tomorrow, well it's raining now with thunder and lightning and very windy. As I was out in the garden and the wind came up, I took a video and pictures of the sky. Don't tell me it's not going to rain.

Had to close the window because the wind direction is coming from the east and a particularly big gust combined with a roll of thunder spooked Rocky to duck under the bed. He's keeping an eye on the closed window right now from the bed.

Before the current squall the soil was dry only about a half inch down so hoping there's enough rain to soak that much of the soil.

The lettuces are still going strong with only a leaf or two being eaten. Not sure what but likely the pill bugs. I saw a few wandering around yesterday because it was so cloudy they felt it was safe I picked them out and tossed them over the wall.

Indian Hawthorn in bloom (R. indica 'Clara') and the lantana seems to have bounced back from the shopping it got in December. She also planted a marigold where everything has failed in that one spot. A marigold. I snatched some chives just snapping them off since I forgot a cutting implement. The rain has increased and a little hail is mixed in (there's a specific word for it but I don't remember what it is).

I made use of another container I remembered I had saved from some muffins we had bought, looks like a cake in there. I thought of bringing it inside for more warmth but then it would be darker and it's a seesaw of choices. I put it outside on the shelf rack, out of the 'drop zone' from the gutter.

I had planned on walking today since I didn't do it on Tuesday but given the rain and I leave in about a half hour... looks like knitting in the car instead.

At least the garden got watered.
