"Here comes the sun....."

Sunny and rather warm today, was sunny yesterday as well but cooler. Still no disturbances in the garden thankfully.
Seriously blue skies and blazing sun, so of course I had to water. Not much breeze either until almost sunset when we can open up the door and window to get good air flowing.

Almost done blooming and almost ready to bloom. Opposite ends of the cycle of plants. I was glad to see more blooms this year than last year though.

The lettuces are doing great, watered everything thoroughly again given it was 80 something today. I am still just in awe of how fast the tomatoes are growing. Shocked me the first time too, that's one of the reasons why I chose Roma again besides being incredibly prolific.
The cilantro in the south bed is in perpetual shade no matter the time of year, that's okay though. I think they get a little bit of sun early, early morning but that's about it. So they're kind of leggy but I'm sure they'll grow into it. Still no flowers on the oregano but I've narrowed it down to most likely Greek Oregano rather than the 'Italian' or common variety. They both spread by runners but the flower is different. The rogue cilantro in the west bed is actually trying to flower and am letting it do so simply because the flowers are good for the garden and I somehow still think I need the seeds. The other rogue one in the adjacent south bed is also flowering which since it's in the other bed 'technically' not mine but it was my seed that escaped... hard to say but I don't think Layla knows how to use it.
The two tomatillos are still hanging in there and I'm waiting for those to get bigger to transplant to the west bed. The garlic is not ready to pull, have to wait for that to flower as well which is the signal that it's ready. Not until late summer I suspect, IF they even bulb.
I saw Dolores while walking Rocky and she said she had to cut the hose again and decided to buy her own so that leaves the 8 foot section of grey hose to Layla. I might end up buying a watering can of some sort to replace the old and hole ridden one.

Was trying to get a good angle to show the size differences and bushiness of the tomatoes day before yesterday. Do I want to pull that middle one? Nah. Should I pull it? Maybe. That one large one is likely enough plant for all the tomato needs I have but I think I'll be working on fresh salsa and lots of salads in a few months.

So that's it for today, sin is setting, breeze is blowing and harbingers of summer are here.
