Repeat of yesterday.

Warm, breezy (almost windy) and hazy clear. This is summer for us and I would rather be further north where the days are longer and cooler during the summer.

Popped out long enough to water lightly I hate seeing a bed of perfectly good soil just sitting there, correction, dirt. I still have some of the amendment left so will mix that in and hope for the best with the small section of wire I put in.

The philodendron that was formerly shaded by the tree... due to heat coming off the wall is now burning on half the leaf. Poor thing. I would love to have my own place so all I have to talk about is my yard and general gardening topics instead of complaining about something I have no control over.

I made sure to water the fence bed thoroughly of course and am not counting on those beans coming up any time soon so will be experimenting with starting them in a baggie with damp paper towels. Like radishes and other things they're supposed to be easy to grow right? I guess I'm not the gardener I profess to be if I can't grow beans. All the seeds I put out and have one cucumber and one bean and six or eight sunflowers. The marigolds were a success and there were four pepper plants, now three....grrrr. Also planning that if any marigolds go to seed I will save those for next year. Hopefully there will be a next year here.
I loosened the soil in that fence bed and don't recall seeing a single bean. I buried them too deep so better luck next time. All the advice I've ever given and can't do it myself.

I keep seeing all these garden videos of wonderful dark beds and a steady camera to film stuff. My tripod is in storage and it's not a tall one, only stands about 3 or four feet off the ground for taking pictures of things on a table. What I am doing isn't worth a video really, whenever I get my actual garden, I will do that. I suspect by that time I'll be too stiff and ancient to be able to do much gardening.

It's 4th of July weekend and I don't have any plans. Stay safe and keep on gardening!

Well, calamity struck.

I never got out to the garden yesterday because I figured it wasn't worth it. I should have watered because it's been dry of course...
