Another fine day and watering

Very breezy and clear, beautiful daytime weather just wish it was a bit warmer at night. It'll get there of course and really can't beat this weather compared to other locations. At least I can get out and visit my garden. It is windy enough with the bedroom window and front door open it is rattling the blinds that are open all the way (I mean pushed back as well). It's great for airing out the apartment but it does make it a bit chilly inside. Meanwhile, out in the sun:

Took some scraps to the pile and dusted it with more dirt and the garlic seemed a bit wilted (which is to be expected going from full shade to full sun) so I watered that bed really well but without the sprayer. I'll have to go through my garlic cloves and see if there's any that would be good for planting. Might even put a potato where the garlic was. For now it's water every other day and keep an eye out for sprouts.

Once again camouflage does the job with the babies. Had to do my best with outlining the head and faces. I forgot to mention that the other bush that's blooming is an old fashioned viburnum. They aren't seen much anymore, they fell out of favor decades ago for various reasons so it tells how old the complex is that these are growing and thriving. The Bird of Paradise on the other hand are about done blooming, all shaggy brown now but that's okay. All things go in their season.

One thing I noticed seeing other people with those types of raised beds is they are fill to the top. Now the top couple of inches in some cases is straw or mulch, but others I've seen it's soil right to the rim.I would have needed another bag of soil, which would have been okay, but I had the mentality of it being a container and therefore need some room at the top. Next winter I'll likely need at least two more bags and dig it through. Now that I have good soil, growing all the way through winter might be possible.

I forgot about the fertilizer again!

Well, calamity struck.

I never got out to the garden yesterday because I figured it wasn't worth it. I should have watered because it's been dry of course...
