Not in a bad way but I'm impatient to see things happening again. It was warm and clear again and I was busy with other errands. I did get out and water, not going to show a picture of wet soil. The compost pile seems to be holding it's own and the jade bush is starting to bloom which means the bees are out again, yay! I watered the raised bed for 5 minutes which doesn't sound like much but it was thoroughly wet when I finished. I set the timer on my watch and just watered until it went off, sprayed the compost a little and the south bed.
This book was on the community table and I just had to pick it up. It is a British publication (1993) and is just chock full of war time things that they did in Britain for gardening and the propaganda involved. Recipes as well as little gardening tips and things to do with the veggies, the only problem is.... it reeks of incense. I have it in baggies with baking soda between paper towels hoping to get the smell reduced. If anyone has any tricks to getting perfume/incense smell out of paper let me know. I was going to read it last night in bed but my sweetie is so sensitive to perfumes and scents I couldn't subject him to that and frankly, it's a bit much for me too. I might put it in a container as the bags are too short so I'm using two but it's not a tight seal.
When I start reading it I'll post some bits and pieces here for enjoyment. Oh the video I mentioned I finally turned the sound on and he's Aussie. I still don't understand how you can generate that much in kitchen scraps to have a 5 gallon bucket full. He suggested in another video to bury your kitchen scraps to compost them a bit faster. In your growing beds. Okay, I get that and that's all well and good if you have a raised bed that's protected but if I did that in the open ground it would be instant gopher bait.
So with the weather and all, the bed is set and planted things are feeling pretty good in the garden.
So far.
