Started with a drizzle and then a good solid rain. It's cloudy now and breezy with a chance or rain sometime. So cloudy weather, good for gardening. Not so much for rainy weather but it's less watering I have to do, duh.
It is not painted orange, it is that rusty, got it all over our hands and my pants as well. They keep these on a pallet outside and then offload what they need inside so yeah... not galvanized or protected at all. This is meant to be used for laying beds of sement like flooring or driveways so if it's rusty, doesn't matter. It was the same cost as the roll of poultry netting I was going to get and it's a lot sturdier and exactly what I wanted.
It barely fit in the car but we got it home and I set it up temporarily while it wasn't raining. I will leave it to lean on the fence because the poles I have just aren't sturdy enough. I hope my heavy wire cutters will be able to cut down the extra two feet at the top. It's 42"x7'and I measured before heading out that it would fit just to be sure.
Trying to decide the best configuration if I want to actually attach the stakes for support. I'm thinking the best is not on the very sides but towards the middle a section or two. It's not like I'm going to put cucumbers or something on it right now and if it comes to that I'll get some wood poles instead or just angle the green poles against the fence.
Getting to be a proper garden bed now with the new trellis. The 2 feet I'm cutting off will be useful somewhere. Maybe support for the tomatoes when I get them in. Or bush beans.
Really, really happy with how things are going, still need to add in more lettuce and other seeds. Dangit, should have gotten a small bag of potting soil while we were there for the seed starting. Oh well.
