Slight mix up and great disappointment

I apparently posted my garden entry on my personal blog and therefore some minor confusion on my part of 'where did  my post go?'. Discovered the error and posted it here instead of there.

All fixed now and got to the garden today with late day sun. Had a visit from an old friend and showed her my progress. Last time she saw it was when she bought the soil and fertilizer for the  raised bed back in January. I also watered as it was needed now.

Jacaranda flowers from our front porch. The downstairs lady has an electric blower and this time of year she's usually out there every other day blowing them off the walkway and into the planter bed.

Tomatoes are looking sassy and good. Radishes are kind of leggy and pulled two small ones that were coming up again. Really concerned that they won't bulb much when they get bigger. Will see what happens of course. It's more radishes than I had before for sure.

And then as I was watering I noticed it as I was watering. The baby cucumber plant was completely gone. Disappeared, into something's stomach. Like it was ever there.

The rassafracking bastidge whatever. This is why I can't have good things. 1 lone seedling out of 6 came up and the odds were against it right away. I need to put some bait or something out to try and get whatever ate it.

I had to untangle a branch on the left side tomato because I had tucked it a bit too much and the flowers were all wrapped up in leaves. I couldn't even find the short piece of green wire I saw the other day so will be tying that up later.

Tried to get the best shot of the aloe in bloom. Obviously the tree was a bad choice as it needed a darker background. The flowers are better looking in person of course, shinier and deeper orange. Oh well.
So I guess I'll have to plant cucumber seeds in the cups and plant them out when they get big enough to survive on their own. Or make a barrier of some sort.

I remembered earlier that one of the things I wanted to plant was strawberries. I have the room for at least two or three plants. Again, once the coriander is done there will be more room and it will still be enough time for strawberries to grow.

Sigh. Such is my life. Such is gardening.
