Brutal weather today so watering

It is predicted to be 99 today by 2 pm it is already 91 at 10:45 am. So yeah. I got out to the garden as early as possible, watered, checked on things and then high tailed it back inside. Needless to say AC is going already.

Yep, that's a big honking cucumber right there and the other one is not far behind it.

I left two smooshed tomatoes out for the pill bugs overnight, there were two on this one until I shuffled some of the mulch. Trying to keep them away from the precious fruit. I posted a picture of my largest cuke on the garden group and mentioned the pill bugs. Someone said get them off the ground with paper plates or something. I don't have paper plates but I do have pieces of bark.

Yoinked larger pieces of bark off the logs for my largest fruit and made do with pieces I found on the ground. I was thinking of using leaves from the sycamores that have fallen but then realized, the pill bugs would eat those.
I did some reading and the reason why that and one other are curled could be improper/incomplete pollinating. That's fine, totally get that and there are enough that were properly pollinated I'm not that sad about it. It may be one I just pulled the male flower off and rubbed it. The tiny baby one there is near that one and not even close to being ready for pollen.

Hard to see but it's a vertical one that may not have been pollinated. The fruit is not filled out and the flower is dying already so oh well.  I counted three successful ones and three or four babies coming up so  I'm good.

I got a picture of Dolores' baby tomatoes. I guess I pollinated those but don't remember. Also not one but 2 Swallowtails were flitting around the lemon bush this morning but once again they move too fast for getting video or pictures. They can smell it for sure.

I'm going to have to cut off right now, we need a few things from the store and need to do it now.
