Still too hot and more tomatoes

Went out last night and nosed around, took a few pictures but without having to do so much watering, it's just making sure that none of the plants have fallen over or anything else happening. Check for ripe tomatoes and that's it. For the next two weeks it's going to be high 80's and into the mid 90's for temperatures. We already have the AC on at 11 am.

Looks like Dolores has a squash of some sort and hard to see, but a moth was flitting around last night (to the left/back side of the square box planter). I need to buy more green onions and cilantro surprisingly but I can't plant any yet it's still too hot. She can get away with it because she's got shade and they were cut ones from the store.

The pink rose is blooming, hard to get a good shot of the color due to glare. The other rose bush has a bud starting to show color.

The zinnias are browning.Pretty sure it was from the calcium dribbled on them or just too hot and got watered.  It was fine before I did the calcium dribble so probably burned them. I leaned the tomato in the other direction and it's almost pushing the sunflower over, oops. I picked five more tomatoes this morning not full red but certainly would be market ready in a store.

(trying to get an updated photo of the 5 tomatoes I picked this morning but internet and phone are being stupid)

I think I figured out when I was half asleep, the problem with the south bed. It's against an east/west wall on the north side. This means that back side of the bed never gets full sun, and gets shade earlier than the other beds. The sun hits the east side bush the most so it's happier and the other one is in shade constantly so it doesn't dry out as fast. The back side of the left/east bush is yellowing really fast which the branch leads down to being shaded all the time. More shade, heavy soil, stays moist longer.

That may also explain why the center plant in the north bed is failing but not why the east one is. That I think can be attributed to poor drainage.

Well so much for that today. Time for cooking and doing other things. Trust me that the tomatoes looked great and one was bigger than the palm of my hand.
