New hose courtesy of Dolores and new cucumber

The weather is going to peak in the 90's this weekend and then do a slow slide into more reasonable temperatures over the next two weeks. Fall is starting to settle in but it is not yet October when we usually continue with the warmer weather.

Cleaned off the leftover flower parts from the sunflower so the full circle of seeds can be seen.  Should be ready for harvesting as soon as the green parts start browning. The hose Dolores got is one of the cheapest you can get. Half inch diameter but she also got a sprayer. The connection to the hose bib isn't tight either but it's better than the other one. She also just dragged the old hose to the corner with my stuff so I had to haul that to the dumpster last night.

Cucumbers are coming along, those two smaller ones I don't think are viable but will see what happens.

A small one I discovered with an open flower that I pollinated this morning. Got dirt on the brush bristles unfortunately so I hope it is okay. That curved one is pretty good sized and should be ready in a few days. I am almost done with the last of the pair I picked last week.

Another one that is coming along but they all seem to be growing slower than the previous set.

Speaking of growing quickly, the strawberries are growing out much faster which is good and bad. They should have some roots pretty soon and will winter over in those cups, barring insult or injury should have plants by next spring/summer.

Oopsie, cut th4e wrong branch and took two good tomatoes off. Oh well. Slowly declining at this point and will be pulling it out in another few weeks.

Things to do, places to go today so off to do errands and such.

Well, calamity struck.

I never got out to the garden yesterday because I figured it wasn't worth it. I should have watered because it's been dry of course...
