It's not that warm today but we don't have sufficient airflow to allow the stiff wind to blow through so we have the AC on at almost 2pm. We turned it on briefly last night since we ran the oven for an hour. When the sun comes over the building and angles into the front window and door it bakes us. It's only 78 outside but it's 82 inside and there you have it.
I met up with Dolores yesterday as we were waiting for our food pick up. She said she got an eggplant from HD and put it on her front porch but it wilted in the sun and she was confused why since the tag said full sun. I went into a discussion about how yes they like the sun but they have very thin leaves and will recover. Also even if it was in a bigger pot it would have wilted with the amount of heat we had over the weekend. She brought it inside so it recovered. I told her it'll be fine when it gets over to the garden and she can put it over in the sun near the log pile since her beds are all in the shade.
Why am I repeating the pepper pictures? Because I didn't take any pictures of the garden yet. Nothing to report other than I think the one cilantro seedling got eaten over night from the pill bugs. Oh well.
But on to the peppers. I met up again with Dolores on my way to the garden last night and we talked about the pepper and I broke one off (the one pictured with my hand) because I told her that from my investigating this is likely a really hot pepper. I broke it apart with my thumbnail and smelled it, yuppers! They are hot! I also just touched it to my tongue and verified in front of her that it was burning a hole in my tongue. She continues to say well 'Armando' or whoever had given it to her and it wasn't that hot. From a Mexican. Right. Never trust a Mexican when they say 'it's not very hot'.
One of these is as hot or hotter than a JalapeƱo. One, maybe two are sufficient in a salsa for me.
And that's it for today, need to go do shuttle run with grandkids and will do the evening garden run with pruners in hand to night.
