Getting cold at night, moderate temperatures during the day and breezy.... so yeah. Other than that, I planted the sweet pea sprouts and shifted a few things around. As a reminder I will likely not be able to post after Friday if my power gets cut off. Already posted on FB about the situation so here we go.
The strawberry has new leaves! Silly plants, likely a response to being in a container above ground and getting sun longer than normal. Those are the Romaine seedlings in the background. The rose definitely has lost one of the plants. Nothing sprouting on it and a lot of the branches have browning. I'll be bringing my pruners with me down to the garden and trim out the branches and that one plant
I realized the container that the pea pods were in had a good inch of water in it and went to dump it out and the pellets fell out. Alrighty then, time to plant them I guess. O put them where I wanted to plant them, plenty of room spacing them on each of the upright wires.
First one had a number of roots coming out the bottom and had to peel the cover off carefully. Second one only one or two were showing and the third about the same.
One of the lettuce pellets apparently got too dry or too wet so I pulled that then planted the peas as close to the trellis as I could. In the effort to remove the covers without breaking off roots the last one lost a portion of the peat moss but I think it's going to be okay. So two snow peas and three sweet peas, here's hoping for a good growth on all of them.
Cilantro, chives, potatoes and carrots are all doing really good. Still about a dozen carrots and are developing true leaves now.
Cilantro has doubled in size I think in the last few days and the two little transplants are still going good. The zinnias are just hanging in there, I cut (broke off) a half dozen younger flowers and am seriously thinking I want to just cut them down at this point. They are really leggy and tree like rather than bushy so at this late stage with the cooler weather I'm okay with getting them out.
Time for me to scoot, hope to post tomorrow and Thursday and then will see what happens.
