Started with the mist/sprinkle around 4:30 and then by full dark I could hear the rain outside. It varied most of the night but by midnight there was a good downpour for about a minute or two. So everything got watered and it's just cloudy and breezy today.
Breezy post rain storm but no rain predicted until next week and only a 30% something chance of it. Everything got a serious soaking thankfully because I was almost going to water yesterday.
Definitely some rain happened. Lots of worm castings, a pill bug or two and a snail were spotted in various places. A decision was made as well about the Romaine and I brought down a small knife to cut one of the heads.
Big beautiful head of Romaine. More room is opening up in that bed and just waiting on the radish and carrots. Speaking of radishes, I saw one that was close to eating size and pulled it.
Also used my knife to hack off a bunch of cilantro in the beds and then after washing the radish realized pill bugs/snails/slugs like them. Several divots and tracks in that one. Sigh. Will have to figure out how to grow them without being damaged in the future.
Good to know where the roofline is that doesn't have a gutter. That spot between the logs and the corner of the shelf, that's mostly grit/sand from the run off of the corner of the roof. Will have to mark that somehow and make a note to not put anything there.
The green cornucopia from the garden. I cut back the cilantro in the raised bed a LOT. I would have to buy three or four bunches in the store to get this much. I'm researching green goddess and other cilantro based dressings to use it all.
Seriously, best cilantro dressing I've had is from El Pollo Loco and my first try at it was too spicy so have to go again. Then need to try and replicate their steak marinade or use some chicken...hmmmmm.
Yay for gardening!
