Again it is May Grey time of year, thought it was going to be cloudy all day, and it nearly was. Didn't clear off until noon or so and breezy/windy sunny day ensued.
The other cauliflower is finally forming a flower bud and is being chewed a lot more than the other plant, as far as I know. Need to take the netting off and double check later. Will be greatly disappointed if the flower on the other one is being eaten.
I did take pictures last night after I put protective coverings on the new transplants but my phone fratzed and I lost those pictures. They survived with the ones I finally chose, clear bottomless cup in the far back corner, one of the 4 inch bottomless pots that was heat formed into an oval and the black bottomless tray. I then decided to dig up the plant in the back corner and move it very close to the trellis because.... as I said, if they grow like the tomatoes did they'll need support. I left the one in the front right corner and the left side. I almost moved the left hand one to the trellis on that side then thought I'll plant the tomato in the middle (whenever that happens) and then realized I wouldn't be able to reach the tomato bush very well so it stays where it is.
I may have to break down and buy tomato plants from the store. This is rediculous. No squash and no tomatoes, the pepper plant I pulled and it had very little root growth. I have the peppers I want to eat growing and almost ready to transplant. All the tomatillos survived transplant and can only hope I get some eggs or something for the extra plants. Maybe someone has an extra roma tomato plant.
I decided to use one of the poles to support the cilantro I was only able to ram it in about four inches or I would have needed a hammer to get it in further. Definitely need more soil in that bed, I might get a piece of wood or something and divide off the chive and oregano then fill in the rest of the bed with more soil after the cauliflower is done. There's still the onion in there too but that's negotiable for whether to keep it or not. I really need to get a square frame that's deeper to put in there and fill it with soil. I only need about ten inches.
Anyone want some chives?
