Sorry for the ear worm but that's what came to mind. Another day closed up due to heat, last night Rocky was meowing loudly at our door so had to put him in the bathroom then Pepe lePew apparently went off somewhere and we had to close the window and turn the ac fan on. Ugh.
Two different days and times. That poor onion in the corner is getting pushed over from the squash and the Fish Pepper is still struggling to get enough sun. The potato and everything in the west bed are doing okay, just hope there will be some spuds in the soil I can actually use. I have no idea when I'll have the money for supplies and even soil.
Might have some peppers to use in a few weeks. That JalapeƱo is about half size at this point, the one above it as well. The poblanos are a bit further behind since they're the size of my thumbnail and need to be about three inches long. They're all loving the hot weather though.
Bottom of the oldest tomato plant and the one that has the largest fruit so far. Much pointier tip on it than the true Roma tomatoes. Those will be a try again next year if I get more soil to fill that bed.
Pollinated another one and I cut the one below off because it was big enough. Ate it with dinner last night with another cut up. Very odd, I think the smaller one was too young because it stayed more white than yellow.
Manny is nowhere to be seen as of last evening. I found the horn worm but no mantid sadly. This poor plant is being burned up on the new growth mostly, which is also being eaten by the worm but it's all good. I haven't been out today yet, going to have to wait until evening again since it's 90 right now at around 3pm.
Looking for both critters I saw caterpillar poop and knew that one was still around so kept looking. I had to water and splashed water over the top as well as on the soil, shook the bushes but the only thing that moved was a white moth that flew away. I bent down and then spied the horn worm. I'm letting it feed because the tomatillos are done for the season as far as I'm concerned. Glad I had the tomatillos for it to eat and not my tomatoes.
That's all for today. If I get any photos this evening I'll have them for tomorrow or the next day depending on the situation.
